As a Humanistic Psychotherapist I will work alongside you as a professional guide to you as the expert of your own experiencing. I do not make deterministic interpretations or give advice, instead my role is that of a professional guide. Central to the humanistic-existential approach is that people are capable of positive growth, and can make beneficial choices, within a safe, warm, respectful environment. Sometimes just being about to talk through painful issues with a person who cares can provide this space is needed.

I can incorporate relaxation, mindfulness, CBT, gestalt models into the work, which are tailored to the needs of each unique client, so I may make suggestions or invite you to try different approaches that could be beneficial, however it is always your process that is central to the work, and as such we work together in collaboration. It is not my job to give advice, answers, or solutions but to actively listen and support you in making healthy choices.

It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the psychotherapist and client alike. But in the end, making small changes and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
